Women in Science Event
Women in STEM often lack same-sex role models at leadership levels. This networking event allows early-career female researchers and their supporters to present flash talks and receive feedback from senior female scientists, advancing women in STEM leadership.

14:00 Welcome & Introduction of Group Leader panel from TWIST partners*
14:10 Flash Talks: 5 minutes followed by 3-min Q & A (4 speakers)
14:45 Networking Coffee
15:15 Flash Talks: 5 minutes followed by 3-min Q & A (4 speakers)
15:50 Break
16:00 Award ceremony for best talk and most innovative approach
16:10 Light Apéro in FMI Cafeteria
To apply for a Flash Talk slot: Female postdocs or senior PhD students from a TWIST partner Institute* should submit an abstract (less than 300 words) about their research by November 10th. Confirmations for talk slots will be emailed by November 15th, 2023.
General registration: Staff (all genders welcome!) from a TWIST partner institute* are cordially invited to attend. Register by November 13th (required for visitor badge).
*TWIST Basel partner institutes:
Swiss TPH, FMI, DBM, IOB, D-BSSE, Biozentrum
